Second Grade has been working on creating multimedia city paintings. They used marker, oil pastels, and tempera paint. These paintings will soon be turned into reflections. Keep watching as we create our city reflections. If only I could actually visit some of these creative cities!
Our color mixing project is on display outside of the Art room. First Grade has finished our color primary and secondary color project. This project was based on the book below. Great job First Grade!
First grade began by reading the book, 'Mouse Paint'. Then we drew three mice. One for each of the primary colors: Red, Yellow, and Blue. Students cut out these mice and glued them to a black background. After our mice were glued to their background, we made a color wheel. While making our color wheel we mixed the primary colors together to make our secondary colors: Orange, Green, and Purple. Then mouse footprints were added using our secondary colors. Can you see the mice running off of our papers?
Second grade did a wonderful job finishing their 'Blue Dogs'. Not all of our dogs were blue, they were complimentary colors. These were colors opposite on the color wheel. What a wonderful display we had in the hallway!
Just outside of the Art room we have our very first Kindergarten Art display! How proud we are of the the amazing cutting and gluing skills our Kindergarten students have shown. I can't wait to see where we can go from here...here comes the paint!
