This week Second Grade will be drawing their very own ‘Blue Dog’. However, all Blue dogs are not blue! George Rodrigue (March 13, 1944 – December 14, 2013) an American artist originally from New Iberia, Louisiana; created the ‘Blue Dog’. After looking at his artwork, Second Grade will be drawing a rendered dog illustration. Next week we will paint our illustrations with complimentary colors.
This week First Grade will begin to lean about line. Drawing with line is very important in the Art Room. We will be looking at some of the ‘Pigeon’ books by Mo Williams. Did you know that the Pigeon is made entirely out of numbers and letters? After our drawings, we will be using oil pastels and paint to finish this first project in the Art Room.
